Nuclear-grade pressure vessels, tanks, and heat exchangers serve nuclear power
construction and operation, commonly in reactor auxiliary systems, spent-fuel storage,
and waste treatment. They must meet nuclear safety class, material qualification, and
full traceability requirements, placing them among the more demanding segments of the
nuclear supply chain.
Typical nuclear-grade parts include Class III argon decay tanks, helium storage tanks,
spent-fuel storage canisters, and heat-exchanger mock-ups. Materials span SA965 F304,
Q345R, and 022Cr19Ni10, with unit weights from a few tonnes to the hundred-tonne class,
and dimensional and accuracy demands higher than standard pressure vessels.
Requirements differ sharply across reactor types: helium purification tanks need higher
design pressure; spent-fuel canisters emphasize sealing and corrosion resistance; all
require qualified welding procedure approval and heat-treatment control. Manufacturing
relies on large heat-treatment furnaces (e.g. 5×5×26 m class) and radiography rooms
(e.g. 7×6×25 m class), plus spectrometers, diffusible-hydrogen testers, and chemical
labs for in-house control from material to final inspection, with material certificates
and weld records kept per batch.
Nuclear-grade equipment is subject to export control and end-user screening; compliance
verification must be completed before trade. Xiao Global Trade can consolidate
supply-chain resources holding nuclear-grade qualifications and assist overseas buyers
with compliant manufacturing, supervision, and screening — without replacing statutory
licensing or filing procedures.
China's growing nuclear installed capacity and demonstrations of fast reactors and
high-temperature gas-cooled reactors sustain demand for nuclear-grade equipment;
suppliers with upgraded (Class III and above) qualifications and serial delivery
capability draw attention.
