Low-voltage switchgear distributes electrical power from transformers to motors, lighting, heating and process loads. Operating at 380 V or 660 V, 50/60 Hz, these cabinets must combine safety, reliability and easy maintenance. The two main design philosophies are fixed-type assemblies and withdrawable drawer systems.
Fixed-type cabinets mount circuit breakers, contactors and fuses on fixed plates inside the enclosure. They are simple, robust and cost-effective for applications where circuit changes are rare.
GGD is one of the most widely used fixed-type LV distribution boards in power plants, substations and industrial plants.
Rated voltage: 380 V
Rated current: up to 5,000 A
Short-circuit breaking capacity: 15 kA to 50 kA depending on the sub-type
Standards: IEC 439-1, GB 7251.1
Applications: main distribution boards, motor control centers, capacitor banks
XL-21 cabinets are compact, wall-mounted or floor-standing units used to feed power to motors and small distribution boards in factories and commercial buildings.
Voltage: AC 500 V and below
Configuration: three-phase four-wire or five-wire
Mounting: indoor wall installation with front access for maintenance
Withdrawable switchgear uses modular drawers or plug-in units. Each feeder can be isolated, tested or replaced without disturbing neighboring circuits, which minimizes downtime in critical facilities.
MNS is a modular, low-voltage drawer system suitable for high-density feeder applications.
Rated voltage: 400 V / 660 V
Rated current: up to 5,000 A
Frequency: 50/60 Hz
Enclosure: IP30 / IP40 optional
Applications: power plants, substations, petrochemical plants, airports, ports, high-rise buildings
GCK cabinets are widely used in power generation, metallurgy, petrochemical, textile and hotel applications. They support three-phase four-wire and five-wire systems and offer CCC-certified safety.
Rated insulation voltage: 660 V / 1,000 V
Rated working voltage: 380 V / 660 V
Horizontal busbar current: up to 5,000 A
Standards: GB 7251.1, IEC 60439.1
GCS is designed for large power plants, petrochemical plants and automated systems that require close integration with computer interfaces and motor control centers.
Rated working voltage: 400 V / 660 V
Rated current: up to 5,000 A
Short-time withstand current: 50 kA / 80 kA effective value
Peak withstand current: 105 kA / 176 kA
| Feature | Fixed Type | Withdrawable Type |
|---|---|---|
| Initial cost | Lower | Higher |
| Maintenance downtime | Higher | Lower |
| Feeder density | Moderate | High |
| Best for | Main boards, budget projects | Critical loads, data centers, industry |
Standard indoor LV switchgear is usually IP30 or IP40. Outdoor or wash-down environments may require IP54 or higher.
Yes. Withdrawable switchgear is especially well suited for motor control centers because individual motor feeders can be isolated for maintenance.
Common standards include GB 7251.1 and IEC 60439 for low-voltage switchgear assemblies.
